Bali Jewelry Workshop FAQ

This is an introductory jewelry-making experience, designed for beginners who want to learn how handmade jewelry is created — from melting silver to polishing your finished piece.

You'll be guided step-by-step by a professional Balinese silversmith, who will show and assist you throughout the process. Their English may be limited, but they are experts in the craft.

If you have any questions, there are 2 translators/workshop leaders who will introduce themselves at the beginning of the session. They're available around the workshop to help translate or explain — they assist everyone, not one-on-one throughout the whole process.

If you're looking to learn the craft in greater depth, we also offer a 6–12 hour Masterclass program for those who want a more detailed, hands-on experience.

Each participant is provided with up to 6 grams of silver, which is enough for one jewelry piece such as a ring, pendant, or small earrings.

This rule helps keep things fair for all guests and ensures every session runs smoothly. If you'd like to make more than one piece, you can absolutely do so — just book additional sessions or purchase extra silver at Rp85.000 per gram.

Same as silver — each participant receives up to 6 grams of brass to work on 1 design. Extra brass is available at Rp45,000 per gram.

Brass is worked differently from silver — it requires more physical effort in shaping and hammering, making it a slightly more hands-on experience.

You'll be doing real steps of jewelry-making — melting, shaping, sanding, soldering, and polishing — but always with the help of a silversmith. This ensures your piece is finished properly and safely.

Think of it as teamwork: you'll create together, learn, and bring home a beautiful handmade piece you can proudly say you worked on.

Gold plating is a thin decorative layer, not a permanent coating. Over time, it will naturally fade — especially with frequent handwashing, exposure to water, or contact with skin products.

The good news is that our base silver is high quality, so when the gold tone fades, you can simply polish it to restore its beautiful silver shine. It won't tarnish green or black like cheap metals, and it remains safe for your skin.

Note: gold plating is available on silver pieces only, not on brass.

Yes — brass will naturally discolor over time with everyday wear and is not waterproof like silver. This is simply the nature of the material and part of what makes it an affordable option.

The good news — you can easily restore its shine at home by rubbing it with Brasso or any regular metal polish, available at most hardware stores. 😊

Our Gold Class is a premium experience for those who wish to work with solid gold instead of silver. Because the price of gold fluctuates daily, this class is available upon request and quoted based on the gold rate at the time of booking.

Please arrive on time for your scheduled class. Traffic is part of Bali life — especially in Ubud — so we strongly suggest leaving early.

Late arrivals can affect the other guests' experience. We always prioritize those who arrive on time as per their booking schedule.

Yes, you can however we prefer cash payments (for smoother transactions with our local team), but card payment is available with a small service charge.
