What happens
Brass is the more affordable way to try jewelry-making, and a slightly more physical one: it takes more hammering and shaping than silver. You get up to 7 grams of brass to make one piece in one to two hours.
Free gold plating is included, so your finished ring or pendant leaves the studio with a warm gold finish. Like all gold plating it fades gradually with wear; the brass underneath can be brought back to a shine with any household metal polish.
Extra brass is available at IDR 45,000 per gram.

Do I need any experience?
No. The class is designed for beginners. A Balinese silversmith works beside you from melting the metal to the final polish, and workshop leaders are on hand to translate and answer questions.

Will the gold plating last?
Gold plating is a thin decorative layer, so it fades gradually with daily wear, frequent hand-washing, and contact with skin products. Once it fades, any household metal polish brings the brass back to a shine.
